Grovefield Dental Surgery & North Norfolk Dental Implant Centre prides itself in high quality dentistry for the whole family. We carry out routine examinations, usually at six monthly intervals, where we will thoroughly examine your teeth, gums, jaw and surrounding soft tissues. During these check ups we will discuss any necessary treatments and can make appointments in the near future to carry these out.
If patients ever experience any problems between their routine examinations, a quick phone call can arrange a prompt emergency appointment.
At Grovefield Dental Surgery & North Norfolk Dental Implant Centre we recommend routine appointments with one of our Dental Hygienists. It is very important to maintain healthy gums, as they are the foundations of a healthy mouth. The main role of a Hygienist is prevention, she can give you tailor made oral hygiene advice. The Hygienist also removes plaque and tartar that can cause gum disease and tooth decay.
Oral Cancer Screening
Oral cancer is a more common cause of death in the UK than testicular and cervical cancer combined so ‘early detection’ saves lives. At Grovefield Dental Surgery & North Norfolk Dental Implant Centre we use every check up appointment to thoroughly inspect all of the soft tissues in and around the mouth.
Common early symptoms in the mouth are non-healing ulcers, red or white patches or any other unusual changes inside the mouth.
Common risk factors are smoking, excessive alcohol consumption, chewing tobacco or a poor diet… “If in doubt – get yourself checked out!”
Dentures (false teeth) are a useful tool when filling gaps , particularly when a number of teeth are missing. There are 2 types – acrylic and cobalt chrome. The chrome dentures are less bulky and ‘clip’ on to remaining teeth for stability.
